From 1st October 2009 the following changes were implemented by the Health and Safety Executive: 

 

  • A new 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course was introduced. This replaces the Appointed Persons course and

          addresses the needs for a trained first aider in workplaces that are classed as lower risk - for example, offices and shops.

     

  • The HSE approved course for Frst Aid in the Workplace became a 3-day First Aid at Work (FAW) course - formerly a 4-day

          course.
